Birthday Party - Caleb
Caleb said that he wanted to share the party with the babies so we had one big bash on the babies actual birthday (just so happens it fell on a Sunday). Aunt Sarah made Caleb's Sponge Bob cake and even colored the cake orange to make it more special. He was just as excited about the babies turning 1 as he was about his birthday.

Birthday Party - Babies
The babies all had different opinions about their party. Cecilia was a 'tick' on my mom and was not a fan of all of her guests. Christian loved the crowd and really started 'working it' before the afternoon was over..meaning he walked on his actual birthday more than he ever had. Cohen was indifferent. He has been on the move for so long he was really interested in the steps and constantly climbing up them.
Here is a cute picture of them eating their own special cakes Aunt Sarah made. The boys got soccer balls with Chelsea Blue (Mark's favorite soccer team) and Cecilia got a flower. Note the boys feet in this picture.

Pre-party
Getting ready for the party was no small feat. As with any party I usually stress out and Mark appears to be walking aimlessly around the house so of course I have to assign him more tasks. With the kids birthdays being only a couple of days apart the big dilemma this year was one or two parties. We wanted Caleb to feel special, but we also did not want to spend a fortune on parties and make it a hassle for everyone else. After much deliberation we decided on one party for family and a couple of friends at our house. Since we have family and friends over on a regular basis we wanted to spice it up a bit and were lucky enough to be able to borrow a small bounce house from a friend. The day before the party was filled with cleaning a cooking. Mark grilled pork steaks so they would be simmered and tender for the party. Since we knew the weather was going to be crummy we decided to see how the bounce house would fit in the playroom. Since it was close to bedtime we stripped the babies down and let them play. We did let Caleb in but it was mostly by himself to go crazy :)

Butterfly house
Caleb was on spring break and my mom insisted that he and I go do something and she stay with the babies. We decided to go to the butterfly house since I had never been before. It was clear to me when we got there who was take who. Caleb showed me all the ropes on what to do and where to go. He of course loved it and so did I. He was right. I did not want to bring my coat into where the butterflies were, I would have died since it was so warm in there.
Here he is patiently waiting for a butterfly to land on his hand. I was impressed with how long he sat and waited. It has happened before but since there were so many people there that day (spring breakers) he was disappointed that one did not land on him. Later one did land in his hair which he thought was funny.
March 1
March was a very busy month for all us of. Planning and preparing for all of the kids birthday party was probably the biggest thing. We also stated spending a lot of time outside. The babies LOVE it outside and prefer to be there as opposed to any where else. We travel everywhere in the choo choo wagon and they have graduated from their infant carriers to their big boy and big girl car seats. I really didn't care about giving the seats up, but just hated to lose my triple decker stroller. Sad to see it go, but the wagon is serving us well.
